More than 3 debts, month by month?
The Debt Payoff Tracker does this for up to 50 debts, compares Snowball and Avalanche, simulates extra payments, and shows your progress on one dashboard.
Questions
How it works.
Snowball or avalanche: which is better?
Avalanche, highest rate first, usually costs a little less interest. Snowball, smallest balance first, pays off a first debt sooner, and that early win helps many people keep going. Switch between the two above to see the difference with your own numbers.
How is the date calculated?
Month by month. Each debt gets its interest, its yearly rate divided by 12, then its minimum. The extra goes to the first debt in the order. When a debt is paid off, its minimum is added to the extra for the next one. The date is the month of your last payment.
What does "with minimums only" mean?
Each debt paid with its own minimum and nothing more: no extra, and nothing moves to another debt. It shows where you would be without a plan. The interest you save compares the two.
Why does it say Never?
When the payments never catch up with the interest, a balance never reaches zero. Raise the minimum of that debt or the extra, and a date appears.
What if I have more than 3 debts?
The Debt Payoff Tracker does the same calculation for up to 50 debts, month by month, in Excel or Google Sheets.
Is what I type saved?
No. The calculation runs in your browser: nothing is sent or stored. Close the page and it is gone.
